Be intentional in how you celebrate the holidays this year by creating a Valentine’s Day itinerary for food, family and fun activities!

CELEBRATE VALENTINE’S DAY WITH THE KIDS THIS YEAR
For many of us, it’s hard to get a sitter. Don’t let it put on a damper on your romance! In fact, use this as an opportunity to help your kids feel at ease with how much you and your hubby still love each other.
Children feel much happier and secure when they know their parents are getting along. Here are a few ideas to celebrate this Valentine’s Day in a way the kids can participate!

1. SET THE TABLE WITH CANDLES AND PLAY SOME ROMANTIC MUSIC
Set the scene with something out of the ordinary for your kids. Get out the “fancy” dishes, maybe even a few place cards, and turn on a “romantic” playlist. Listen to my playlist here.
2. COOK A “FANCY DINNER”
If you’re like me, this is the easiest step where you order takeout, but if you enjoy cooking, make something different that isn’t in your regular rotation or add an appetizer like spinach dip or a cheese ball.
3. SERVE A SPECIAL DESSERT
Order in or cook something different the kids have never tried like a brownie sundae or tiramisu!
4. PASS OUT VALENTINE’S CARDS & GIFTS
Have your kids write each other notes beforehand and pass them out during dessert. If you have special goodie bags, this is a good time too! Ideas are:
- Stuffed animal
- Bubbles
- Playdoh
- Stickers
- Coloring book
- Heart shaped box of chocolates
5. PLAY A BOARD GAMES
Play a favorite family game and just enjoy spending time together!
6. SET UP A COZY SPOT IN THE LIVING ROOM
Lay out palettes of blankets, pillows and stuffed animals to create a spot to cuddle while you watch a family-friendly movie.
7. WATCH A “FEEL-GOOD” ROMANTIC MOVIE
Some ideas for little viewers could be The Parent Trap or any of the Disney Princess movies!
8. GOODNIGHT HUGS & KISSES
Don’t forgot to end the night by telling your kiddos how much you love them with goodnight hugs and kisses!
