Create an Easter itinerary for food, family, and fun activities in order to be intentional in celebrating this Biblical holiday!

Celebrating Easter

We try to do a mix of Bible-based activities mixed with a few silly cultural traditions. Just like at Christmastime, we emphasize the Biblical importance of the reason for the season while having some family fun! Here are seven ways to make this Easter special in your family this year.

Easter Celebration Ideas

1. Decorate Easter Eggs

There are so many creative ways to decorate Easter eggs thanks to Pinterest! Here are a ton I love.

2. Go on an Easter Egg Hunt

We like to hide the decorated eggs in the house that morning and then do an afternoon hunt with the candy-filled eggs.

3. Make Something “Eggy” to Eat

I enjoy having the kids help me make a recipe with all the eggs we decorated the night before. We always make sure to use mom’s first before destroying their tiny creations. Here’s a good recipe for deviled eggs and also egg salad sandwiches.

4. Attend an Easter Service

Celebrate the reason for the season by worshipping together at church. Make sure to dress up fancy just for fun!

5. Read Matthew 28

Matthew 28 covers the story of the Resurrection and the Great Commission. You can also make a foldable Easter story booklet that includes this chapter in my Printable Easter Activities for Kids.

6. Eat Carrot Cake

After lunch, treat yourselves to some traditional carrot cake! I think my favorite part is the cream cheese icing…Oh, and then telling the kids after they finish a huge slice that they just ate VEGETABLES.

7. Wrap up with Bible-Based Activities

If you want a more in-depth family study for Easter, then check out these Easter Activities for Kids I created that will help you focus on the true reason for the season all month long!
