Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity for you to talk to your kids about true love–God’s love for us. Whether it’s February or not, you can always use these activities to foster a sense of healthy love and relationships for your children to use as they grow older.

Since creating a mix of resources I’ve used with my own children over the years, I compiled a 15-page pack of printable activities to teach kids about God’s love for us as his children!

This pack combines Valentine’s Day traditions and Biblical values so that your children can celebrate Valentine’s Day from a spiritual perspective! Here’s what’s included:

Encourage your child to work through as many of these activities as they can throughout the week, month, or year. Help when needed, but tell them to do as much as they can on their own and share how it went.

“God is Love” Coloring Page

Before you dig into the next activities, allow your child to color this page reminding them that the Bible teaches God is love (verse found in 1 John 4:8)–which gives us perspective on who God is. Talk about some characteristics of love. Ask:

How do you show love to others?
If God is love, what do you think that means about how he treats us?

Valentine’s Day Customizable Card

Whether it’s Valentine’s Day or not, have your child make a card for someone to tell them how much they love them! Make copies of this page if you’d like to send it to multiple people. Bonus: help them address envelopes and put them in the mail!

Now let’s dig into what the Bible says about love! Help your child match the Bible verse with the description of what it says. Tape the hearts on one page so that you can flip them up to reveal their match underneath.
