The Book of Daniel in the Bible
The book of Daniel in the Bible is jam-packed with action and power, miracles and visions. It’s the story of a real man who was exiled to Babylon and taken from his homeland of Judah when he was just 15 years old. He is faithful to God and trusts him. So when the new king trains him and his friends to learn to live as Babylonians, they won’t do any rituals that violate what their God asks of them.
Because of this, they grow stronger and wiser than anyone else. When the king has a strange dream, he calls Daniel in to interpret it and he does. After, the king rewards Daniel by making him third in command!
Later, Daniel’s three friends (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) are thrown into a fiery furnace. They had refused to bow down to a false god, but the true God performed a miracle and they weren’t harmed! Because of this, the king demands that everyone worship their true God!

Daniel and the Lions’ Den
Daniel lives his life as a prophet, helping kings with their dreams and prophesying about his own visions. At one point, some administrators who are jealous of Daniel trick the king into passing a law that forbids others to pray to their God.
When Daniel breaks the law, the king is heartbroken but has to throw him into the lions’ den. In the morning, the king runs to check on Daniel who he sees still alive! He then throws the palace administrators in instead. Spoiler alert: They don’t make it.
The book of Daniel’s historical account and future prophecy tells that story of empires that won’t last! Eventually, the one true kingdom of God will replace them all!
