The Bible: A Book About God

Wow. This has been quite the journey to finish outlining every book of the Bible. I am ecstatic that I get to finally write these words down!

To say that my knowledge of the Bible and faith walk have been strengthened is an understatement.

It wasn’t until recently that I began to understand that without Biblical literacy, my knowledge of who God is, was very limited. It seems our culture has trained us to turn the Bible into a book about us, instead of a book about God.

I no longer open up my Bible and randomly point to a verse hoping God will speak to me, because He is not a fortune teller or a genie. I had to learn to stop treating Him as such, and doing the hard work to meet him in the pages allowed me to find out who He is. Discovering what He had to say about me as His child was also a good reminder that I am not the center of the universe…

Studying the Bible as a whole also helped me piece together in a more concrete way that the God of the Old Testament is the same God in the New Testament. And the God in the Gospels is the same God in Revelation. This is so difficult to see when you pick and choose what sections you want to read. You can’t understand the full story if you don’t read the full story.

The Book of Revelation in the Bible

The book of Revelation rocked my world. One, is that trying to summarize this complex book in two pages was unfathomable when I got down to it. Two, the amount of spiritual warfare I felt during the creation of these pages was enough to make me cower in fear.

Something I’ve discovered this past year is that the more you pursue God, the more pushback you’re going to get from the Devil. I constantly remind myself to embrace the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s a daily practice to dust yourself off and persevere. Revelation is a reminder of the reason for this hope.

I am so honored to be able to create this entire study for you. I hope that you see God’s blessing in your life through these pages. Thank you for your support, prayers, and encouragement over the past three years.

Revelation was a beautifully powerful book to end on filled with hope and joy. I highly encourage you to study this book!
