Say Goodbye to Boring Bible Study Time
Sometimes reading the Bible and keeping up with it every day can start to feel less interesting than when you first started. This can make it hard to stick with your Bible study and keep it part of your daily routine (especially when you don’t have a plan!).
I’m always trying new ways to be creative and my Bible study time is no different. Sometimes I want to sit and pray quietly, while other times I want to lay out all the resources on the dining room table and research a topic.
Often, I set personal goals based on a recent sermon, and other times, my brain wants to relax, so I’ll draw some scripture art.

Say Hello to Your New Bible Study Plan
I think God set these desires in my heart (and in yours!) to want to worship him in different ways. The Bible is FILLED with different styles of worshipping God such as:
- David was a musician and poet
- Scribes transferred the words of ancient texts to spread the Word of God
- Paul, Peter, and James were teachers
- Artisans created intricate decorations for the temple
- Others were entrepreneurs using their funds to help others
However, most of only know one method to “grow closer to God”: read your Bible and pray. And if that isn’t getting you into a deeper relationship with him, you must not be doing enough of it!
While this method might work for you, it doesn’t work for me. Traditional Bible study workbooks tend to leave me with more fluff than substance, and even those with substance are so bogged down in the Greek lexicon and other high-level commentary, that I can barely stay awake to finish them.
Don’t get me wrong, when I’m on a research kick, I can go down some deep rabbit holes, but most of us aren’t waking up each morning eager to dissect the politics of the Roman Empire or analyze the eight interpretations of the Hebrew word for bread…
We want to get to know who God is and how we can grow in a joyful, meaningful relationship with him to have the patience, wisdom, and understanding to deal with life’s trials in today’s world.
We want to know Jesus in a way that he becomes a part of our daily decisions so that we can be in tune with who he’s calling us to be.

A Quick Update…
When I originally wrote this post, I was supporting a monthly printable rhythm for Bible study.
Over time, that approach has grown into something more cohesive that includes the groundwork I laid out in the club, without committing to a monthly subscription.
In 2026, I’m guiding a year-long chronological study through the Old Testament that builds the same kind of steady, grace-filled rhythm, just in a way that follows the story of Scripture from beginning to end.
If you’re looking for a simple way to refresh your Bible study without pressure or perfection, you’re invited to study along with us!
