PEEK INTO MY SKETCHBOOKS

I post a lot of my artwork on Instagram, but don’t share a big variety with you here on the blog, so this month I’m giving you a peek into a few projects I’m working on.

The first is an AMAZING book called Draw, Paint, Print Like the Great Artists by Marion Deuchars. Marion takes you on a unique journey through famous artists and their paintings and gives you simple techniques in which to mimic their own style in your own way. I explored all kinds of art mediums in this book, from paint to pastels and paper crafting. Here are some of my favorite pages so far.

BOOK ONE: DRAW, PAINT, PRINT

BOOK 2: 104 THINGS TO PAINT

I love anything by Chronicle Books, so I had to grab 104 Things to Paint. I haven’t finished this one yet, but here are a few pages I’ve started. I’m using pencil to sketch and gouache to paint. I just recently discovered this diverse paint, which is a cross between watercolor and acrylic!

I hope you enjoyed flipping through my sketchbooks! The Draw Paint Print book is great if you’re a beginner, and 104 Things to Paint is great if you need ideas. Both books have high-quality pages for you to create on.
