THANKSGIVING ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS

Thanksgiving is often overlooked as it squeezes in between candy-filled Halloween and the presents of Christmastime.
A few years ago I became more intentional in the way I approached November, pointing out to my children that it’s a month of practicing gratitude, a skill which can benefit you for a lifetime.
Here are some of my favorite ways to get the kids involved in acknowledging and celebrating the spirit of Thanksgiving all month long.
- The Berenstain Bears Give Thanks
- How to Catch a Turkey
- Happy Thanksgiving, Curious George
- Biscuit is Thankful
- The Night Before Thanksgiving
- Turkey Trouble
- Llama Llama Gives Thanks
- Five Silly Turkeys
- There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey
CRAFTS, GAMES, AND MOVIES
- Make-a-Turkey Stickers
- Fall Thank You cards
- Thankful Tree
- Tablecloth activities
- Scratch Art Leaves
- A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
- Autumn Craft Kits
Start a new tradition with your family this November as you practice gratitude together! Write what you’re thankful for on your thankful tree, watch Charlie Brown as you decorate Scratch Art Leaves, and plan a Friendsgiving using the Bingo cards and tablecloth activities.
