March is a weird month. It’s not quite winter, it’s not quite spring. Work and school are in a rut and dreams of summer seem too far off. So how can you add a little pep in your step to these awkward days? Find something to celebrate! If you’ve been following me, you know I like to celebrate something each month with our monthly tubs.

In January we celebrated the arrival of winter, by cooking up yummy soups and crafting with all things snow. In February, we celebrated the people in our lives by telling them how much we love them and decorating the house for Valentine’s Day.

This month, we’re preparing for St Patrick’s Day by decorating with greens and golds throughout the house. My daughter loves this month because we do lots of rainbow crafts and my son loves that we build leprechaun traps the night before St Patrick’s Day.

So put on an Irish playlist and gather everything in your home that’s green to decorate for the upcoming holiday! Here are some ideas to get your wheels turning…

Hang a cute banner with some scotch tape on your mantel and add green and gold accents. I used some fake gold coins in a glass jar to add to the festive look!

Paint some planters with white and gold as a fun accent to your decorations. This adorable flag was found in the Target Dollar Section.

Fill a basket with St. Patrick’s Day books and a few about spring. Read one each night before bed with the kids!

Grab a stack of plates and napkins to stir excitement for the upcoming holiday. Add anything sparkly gold or green to what you already have out.
Collect crafts and stickers to celebrate the new month. Keep them in a basket to do at the table whenever the kids need an activity.
Set out a few fun signs to add whimsy to your kitchen.

Add a touch of sparkle with a cute sign like this one from Michael’s and flowers from The Dollar Tree.

I found this guy at The Dollar Tree and bought one for each of the kids because they had so much fun with their Santa’s at Christmastime.
