With so many people going digital these days, nothing beats the feel of writing in a paper calendar. Here are my recommendations for choosing a calendar for the 2022 new year.

WHY I PREFER PAPER CALENDARS
I tried to jump on the Kindle bandwagon. I tried Google Calendar, downloaded to-do list apps, and created a digital journal.
None of them worked for me.
I can’t stand not holding stuff in my hand. I’m not sure why I can’t move on with the times, but there’s something about having a book in your hand and feeling each page as you turn it to see how close you are to the end.
I’m easily distracted and bells and whistles leave me checking Facebook more than checking off my to-do list. So call me old-school, but I LOVE PAPER.
I love writing, doodling, tearing, folding, ripping and all those wonderful things about having something tangible in my hand.
Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t use the Notes app while I’m at the grocery store, or sometimes bring along my Kindle on vacation instead of two big books, but I don’t prefer it and only go digital as a backup.
Even my products are made to be printed. Sure, you can scroll through them on your screen, but the original intention was for you to print them out, write on them, highlight, flip back and forth and interact with them.
So when it comes to getting organized, I always go for the paper calendars…

THE CALENDARS I’M USING FOR 2022
I am a bit addicted to calendars and try not to buy more than I need, but this year I’ve already started writing in my new 2022 Planner I got from Dayspring. I mean just look at the cover! It’s so pretty!

I think I’ve tried every planner known to man…but my favorite are the ones that include an overall monthly calendar with daily entries in between.
My styles of organization are changing constantly, so I like the flexibility of a large blank space. Bullet journals used to be my thing, but after awhile, I got tired of designing each and every page. Sometimes you just need to jot it down and get on with it.
These Dayspring Planners for 2022 are the perfect way for me to store ALL THE THINGS without all the work.
For blogging, I use the monthly calendar section to write down deadlines, and save the daily calendar for to do’s.

WHAT SETS THIS ONE APART
My favorite thing about this specific calendar is that it has a Bible verse for every week that you can use to practice memorizing scripture (one of my goals for 2022!). It also has a built-in plan for reading through the entire Bible in one year.

Every time I opened this, I found something new to get excited about. In addition to the calendar, there’s a back tab that includes room for notes, an occasion tracker, prayer records, a gratitude journal, and a goals section.

Oh, and when I thought I couldn’t have designed this better myself, there’s pocket in the back, it’s spiral-bound (a must on my list!) and it has a gold elastic band to keep it all together.
I’m feeling super organized already!

KEEPING TRACK OF FAMILY ACTIVITIES
You might combine work and play into one calendar (and using two different colors is great way to do this!), but I prefer to keep them separate. For my family’s schedule, I use a wall calendar (like this one), in the kitchen so that everyone can write down what’s happening at school/church/vacations, etc.
If someone asks me, “Are we doing anything this weekend?” I refer them to the kitchen wall calendar. This way my work calendar is not disturbed by anyone but me.

There are some gorgeous calendars over on Dayspring that you should grab before they sell out. Here are some others I have my eye on for Christmas gifts this year:
